Jeff Genender

CTO & Chief Architect, Savoir Technologies

Jeff has over 17 years of software architecture, team lead, and development experience in multiple industries. He is currently the CTO and chief architect for Savoir Technologies. Jeff is an active committer and Project Management Committee (PMC) member for Apache Geronimo, a committer on OpenEJB, ServiceMix, and Mojo (Maven plugins). He is the author of Enterprise Java Servlets (Addison Wesley Longman, 2001), also is currently co-authoring Professional Apache Geronimo (2006, Wiley). Jeff also serves as a member of the Java Community Process (JCP) expert group for JSR-244 (Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5 (Java EE 5) Specification) as a representative of the Apache Software Foundation. Jeff is an open source evangelist and has successfully brought open source development efforts, initiatives, and success stories into a number of Global 2000 companies, saving these organizations millions in licensing costs.

Filip Hanik

Senior Software Engineer, Covalent Technologies

Filip is a Senior Engineer for Covalent Technologies and a key participant in Covalent's Apache Tomcat initiatives. Filip brings 12 years of extensive experience in architecture, design and development of distributed application frameworks and containers and is recognized for his top-quality system development skills and continuous participation of Open Source development projects. Filip is a committer to the Apache Tomcat project where he is a leading authority on Tomcat clustering and a key contributor to the core of the platform. He also authored the online book Hitch-Hiker's Guide to Tomcat. Prior to joining Covalent, Filip worked as a Senior Software Engineer/Architect for La Quinta Corporation. Previously, Filip has made contributions to software initiatives for Walmart.com, Sony Music, France Telecom and has held a variety of senior software engineering positions with technology companies in both the United States and Sweden. He received his education at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden where he majored in Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

Eric Redmond

Eric Redmond has been involved in the Maven community for over two years as a user, contributor, speaker, author - as well as a founder of two professional education and consulting companies surrounding Maven and other aspects of large-scale application lifecycle management. He is currently enjoying some down-time, meaning a simple life as a Ruby (and Rails) developer, yet keeping a keen eye on JRuby. He is the proprietor of Propellors Consulting and an active blogger at http://blog.propellors.net.
